Item Description
1-5/16" brass missing the reverse shank. This design is catalogued in Dewey Albert's book on historical clothing buttons as Washington 11A. There are three varieties based on the spacing between the letters "GW" with this the most narrow spacing and positioned in an oval 8mm x 16mm. Just below the "W" and oval is a very small indent resembling a tiny 1/16" letter "c" on an angle. The "GW" initials and letters of the motto are slightly smooth but remain bold and easily seen. Fine.
