Item Description
7.25x22-7/8 thin artboard has three panels of India ink original art by Milton Caniff for June 25, 1951 daily strip. Stamped "Steve Canyon" title at top left w/inked "Hear And The Air" title at top right. Field Enterprises, Inc. copyright strip in first panel. Captain Curly Kew sailing toward rendezvous ship, asking sailor if he flashed signals. Kew mentions the other ship is sure to send an inspection team aboard and says they'll have to hide Steve Canyon and the Duchess, as Steve listens in on last panel. First panel has 1.25x3.5" area of sky and word balloon tails redrawn on pasted artboard. Cartoonist-creator Milton Caniff didn't sign the art when it was published. Top margin has green felt tip pen inscription to noted mystery author that reads "For Allan Collins - Keeper Of The Faith - Come Hell Or High Water! - Cordially Milton Caniff. Top margin shows some wear w/a few small spots of staining and top corners have pin holes/staple holes, not affecting art, which remains clean and Exc.
