Item Description
7.25x23" thin artboard w/India ink original art by "Terry And The Pirates" creator Milton Caniff. Art is for June 21, 1940 and features four panels, w/Terry, Pat, Connie and Big Stoop in first panel and Deeth Crispin III recovering in hospital, being pushed in wheelchair by nurse until he sees April Kane's room and rushes into it. Caniff has signed last panel, which also has aged News Syndicate Co., Inc. copyright strip. Top left has inked "Terry" name at left margin and inked "Quick Getaway; No Knock" title at right. Back has Tribune Engravers Room inkstamp and penciled title/date in two spots. Front has faint received stamp at right margin. Upper left corner has 1.5" sliver/chip off and top/bottom and right margins have glue staining. Single pin hole at upper right corner. Artboard is VG overall. Third panel has a few areas of surface paper lift w/ink touch-ups, but o/w art remains clean and Fine/VF.
