Item Description
Two thin artboards joined together at center for overall size of 21.5x26-5/8". Page has 11 panels of India ink original art by Milton Caniff for July 1, 1945 Sunday page. First panel has cut out "Terry And The Pirates" title stat w/original art. Caniff has signed first panel. First five panels feature Terry meeting w/Pyzon and Mr. Hutch/Scupper Ritt. As Terry leaves, Pyzon and Hutch discuss the benefits of having both Japanese and American soldiers on the island, Pyzon is safe given his neutral passport, but Hutch's true identity as a prisoner who escaped during the Battle of Bataan would leave him high and dry. Threatening Pyzon, Hutch realizes he's his best hope. Title paste-over has even moderate aging w/some scattered staining along upper left margin, one spot in third panel word balloon. Large inked date at top left/bottom right margins. Small staple holes at top/bottom right corners. Artboard is Fine/VF overall while most of art remains clean and VF. Would look great framed.
