Item Description
10.5x15-5/8" thin artboard has pen and ink original art by Ernie Chan for page 2 of "Detective Comics" #461, published by DC Comics, July 1976. Page features seven panels, showing car speeding up in front of Gotham City Police headquarters and dumping what appears to be a body in front of Commissioner Gordon, Chief O'Hara and Bruce Wayne's faithful butler Alfred. As they rush to the prone form, Alfred notes "Those Are Master Wayne's Clothes!" The body (a disguised dummy) then explodes. Second to last panel shows the batsignal streaking across the sky w/Batman swinging on batrope through Gordon's open office window in last panel. Chan's pencils were inked by Frank McLaughlin. Top margin has thin strip of white tape w/handwritten "Detective" title, issue number and publication month as well as page number. Bottom margin has strip of tape staining at center, not affecting art. Some corner tip wear/dust soiling but art remains clean and Exc. Could be matted and framed for a nice display.
