Item Description
22x30.5" thin cardboard. Additional text at bottom "Sponsored By Freedom Fund Dance The Wicomico County NAACP". By 1965 the civil rights movement was in full swing and this period saw Fats refusing to play for segregated audiences. Here he performs for a local Freedom Fund benefit who employed the legendary Globe Posters to produce this stunning piece featuring an explosive day-glo background w/a floating head image of the creole pianist at top left next to "Fats Domino" executed in font resembling dominoes. At bottom right is a standing portrait of the rock 'n roll legend just below the featured song title "Stop The Clock." Top corners have been filled and the poster has been professionally mounted stabilizing a vertical and horizontal crease. Otherwise only scattered creases and light age toning. VG displaying VF. Rare. Bold, fresh colors and imposing size make this a true standout. This is the only oversized Globe poster we've encountered featuring the legendary rock 'n roll pioneer.
