Item Description
5.5x19.25" thin artboard w/India ink original art by "Bringing Up Father" creator George McManus. Art is for May 26, 1928 and features four panels, w/Maggie telling little neighbor girl (whom she and Jiggs are babysitting) to go up to bed. When she does, Maggie tells Jiggs to go up and check on her and if she's not asleep, Maggie w/go up and sing her a lullaby. Jiggs goes up, and upon finding the little girl still awake, tells her "Now - Listen - Take My Advice - If You Can't Sleep - You Had Better Pretend You're Asleep." McManus has signed last panel and has King Features Syndicate copyright strip. Margins have pinholes and scattered soiling. Fine/VF overall, though art remains clean and Exc. Jan Wahl Collection.
