Large and impressive 18.75x23.75" vellum sheet has colorful mixed media original art for proposed premium sign advertising "Action Comic Puppet Theater." This 1930s prototype sign includes image of children playing w/the premium theater, which is decorated w/images of Herby and Andy Gump. Boy is giving a show w/Little Orphan Annie puppet. Sign has hand-lettered text noting other "Famous Funny Paper Puppets" included w/the premium - Orphan Annie's dog Sandy, Lillums, Shadow, Harold Teen, Dick Tracy, Pat Patton, Sparkle Plenty, Perry Winkle, Andy Gump, Terry Lee (of "Terry And The Pirates"), Smilin' Jack and one other. Additional text notes "Free To Boys & Girls Who Bring Their Mom Or Dad!" No product is specifically mentioned. Vertical fold at center. Sheet shows moderate handling wear w/creases and center left margin has 4.25" tear. Fine overall. Unique. From the archives of premium creators Sam & Gordon Gold and comes with LOA.
