Item Description
14.5x23-1/8" artboard w/nine panels of India ink original art by Clarence D. Russell (1895-1963) for April 6, 1941 Sunday page for "Pete The Tramp," which was distributed by King Features Syndicate for more than three decades. Artboard shows Pete in soldier's uniform, walking upon abandoned cigar. Craving a smoke, he picks it up only for his sergeant to see this and yell at him. He grumbles and sits down, only for the camp doctor to walk by w/the cigar in his mouth, telling him he found it on the ground, which makes Pete quite upset. Last panel has KFS copyright strip. Margins show lt. scattered aging/wear and have printer labels at top bottom corners. Fine/VF overall, but art remains clean and VF/Exc.
