Item Description
10x14.5" prototype premium book has wonderfully mixed media original art cover showing "Junior In The Jungle" w/Junior using "A Gun That Shoots" that was including in book as stated on cover along w/"A Series Of Wild Animals." 1930s. Hand-lettered/painted "Junior In The Jungle" title at top of first page. Next page has fully painted original art of two African natives and elephant to be cut out. Rest of pages are blank w/penciled "Color" note on each page. Back cover has fully painted, original art components for cut out gun. Pinch creases to spine w/come scattered moisture staining to cover and lt. edge/corner tip wear. Spine splits by staples w/archival tape repairs. Fine overall. Comes w/two full color mixed media original art cut-outs of lion and tiger as well as six other cut-outs w/preliminary lead pencil sketches, more detailed giant gorilla and four African natives (all lead pencil original art). VF/Exc. w/just lt. aging. Also included are series of eight sheets of onionskin paper w/pencil sketches of cut-out components from book. This includes three sheets w/nicely detailed pencil sketches of lion, six different African natives, two different black panthers, giant gorilla, tiger, giant python, giraffe, elephant and two smaller images of bird and tiger leaping on prey. Scattered moderate aging, handling wear and crease. VG/Fine. Lot also included worn American Advertising & Research Corp. mailing envelope w/handwritten "Junior In The Jungle Game" in pencil. Envelope is empty and just comes along. Extensive and unique lot. From the archives of premium creators Sam & Gordon Gold and comes with LOA.
