Item Description
Extensive lot of original art for 1950s punch-out premium set similar to Buck Roger Sylvania TV premium that was also produced by Gold. Lot includes art for proposals for premiums for both Westinghouse TVs and Wheaties cereal. Lot includes 10.75x14.75" prototype envelope w/mixed media original art of punch-out spacemen, aliens and spaceships and buildings and hand-lettered "Here Is Your Westinghouse Space Port" w/"Westinghouse" name being paste-over arrow. Large aged tape repair on front. VG. Comes w/six 10.5x14.5" cardstock sheets w/pencil outline layouts for punch-out pieces. Some scattered aging/dust soiling, Fine/VF. Large 18.25x24" stiff paper sheet has four separate sheets of paper glued to it, each w/hand-lettered text or mixed media original art depicting same punch-out space set as seen on envelope, but w/pieces labeled. Some note "Terrific Action Toys" features including - "Sound Detector Turns, Launches Intercontinental Ballistics Missile With Powerful Thrust, Launcher Spins Flying Saucers Into Outer Space, Jupiter Rocket Zooms Upwards" and so on. Bottom portion has "Mother! Dad! Come In And See The New Westinghouse TV!" hand-lettered text w/images of TV sets. This was for newspaper ad. Heavy horizontal crease at center w/5.25" split at right center. Moderate aging and edge wear. Bottom onionskin paper has heavy even aging. VG/Fine overall. Comes w/thin paper sheet w/mixed media original art that has been glued to thicker 9.5x15.5" sheet. Full color art was prototype for store sign and features all but identical art images as seen on newspaper ad, just in different configuration. This was for Wheaties cereal promotion, w/image of cereal box at bottom right. Vertical crease at center and pin holes at corners, but VF overall. All art is unique. Back of each piece has "A Creation Of Sam Gold - Premium King" foil crown stickers. From the archives of premium creators Sam & Gordon Gold and comes with LOA.
