Item Description
In a recent auction we offered prototype original art for a 1930s Goudey "Junior G-Man Magazine" booklet and sign. While the prototypes offered (this item and following lot, item #2083) here do not feature the Goudey name, this was for a similar pitch created for them in the 1930s. Approx. 12x12.25" sheet of vellum has mixed media original art for either a gum wrapper or box featuring great artwork of famous circus lion tamer Beatty and snarling lion w/circus crowd in bkg. Aside from title, other hand-lettered text includes "A Clyde Beatty Action Animal Snapper That Opens And Closes Its Mouth - Free In Each Package OF Circus Gum." Sheet has been folded into quarters and shows some lt. scattered wear to letting at center. Still VF overall and would look great framed. An exceptional and totally unique lot for the non-sports collector. From the archives of premium creators Sam & Gordon Gold and comes with LOA.
