Item Description
Extensive lot for this classic 1950s premium. Lot includes three pieces of all mixed media original art ("A Creation Of Sam Gold - Premium King" foil crown sticker on backs of each); two artboards of very detailed promotional art featuring different components for the "3-D Vacuum Molded Plastic Disguise Kits" including one 7x13.25" artboard showing three different sets in full color w/hand-lettered text detailing parts and uses. Other artboard is 10-3/8x12.5" and has bw art showing different pieces as well as children wearing disguises in different configurations. Both are Exc. Comes w/11.25x23.75" sheet of onionskin paper w/full color mixed media original art for prototype sign promoting these premiums. Hand-lettered text includes "Kids - Send For Your Colorful Face Disguise Kit - Lots Of Different Disguise Combinations - Fool Your Friends! Party Fun!" Art at left shows boy wearing disguise w/smaller image of disguised boy and girl above him. Blank product box at right w/area for pricing. Additional text notes "Only 25¢ And One Box Top From.. Send For Yours Today!" Three heavy vertical creases w/some additional fold lines and scattered wear to left/right margins. Top center has archival tape repair on back to 2" split. Staple holes/pinholes at corners, more moderate at upper right. Some tiny holes at product box area. VG overall. Rest of lot consists of five pieces ranging from 6.5x12.25" to 16x24" including stat negative, mock-up of cereal box ad, stat w/penciled text/notes and two sheets of thin paper featuring all pencil original art for prototype signs, one being much more detailed/finished looking while other is very simple w/sketch-like quality. Varying degrees of aging/handling wear; VG to VF overall. This premium was developed for both Post and Kellogg's and both names appear on a different piece. Extensive, interesting and unique lot. From the archives of premium creators Sam & Gordon Gold and comes with LOA.
