Item Description
12.75x17.25" mat contains 11x14" artboard that has been attached to backing w/cloth tape at top margin. Pen and ink original art by Ed Brubaker for page 8 of "Lowlife" #1, published by Caliber Comics in 1991. Page features nine panels, w/first six a dream sequence in which the main character beats a dog to death w/a baseball bat. Last three panels involve two other characters waking him up to play a prank on him. "Lowlife" was Brubaker's first professional work. The work is semi-autobiographical, based upon the lives of the author and his friends but "with the names changed." Lower right has black ink inscription "To Brian - Thanks A Lot Man, Keep Up The Good Work" and has been signed by Brubaker. Artboard has some margin aging, but art remains clean and Exc.
