Item Description
22.75x28.75" beautifully crafted custom frame holds pen and ink original art for unpublished "Green Lantern" comic page. Art features seven panels, showing Golden Age Green Lantern riding in the cab of his sidekick Doiby Dickles, arriving to "The Bulletin" newspaper offices, where former mobsters have taken over. Green Lantern and Doiby both appear in six panels. Art is by Paul Reinman (1910-1988), an American comic book artist best known as one of Jack Kirby's frequent inkers during the Silver Age. Art remains bright, clean and Exc. Art was apparently intended for "All-American Comics" #89, but this story was abandoned. Art is further enhanced by great frame created by artist Dan Makara, featuring collage style utilizing Golden Age Green Lantern comic panels from the 1940s w/vintage tin litho cab toy mounted at top center, a Golden Age Green Lantern figure mounted inside, a clever nod to the page art within frame. Dan Makara Collection.
