Item Description
DC. First appearance and origin of Wonder Woman (Princess Diana) in "Introducing Wonder Woman" back-up story. First appearance of Steve Trevor. Starman and Dr. Mid-Nite join the Justice Society of America in "Two New Members Earn Their Spurs" story. This issue, one of the most important issues in the history of DC Comics, is currently tied for the #15 spot on Overstreet's list of Top 100 Golden Age Comics. Although the main story featured the JSA, it is more well known for having the first appearance of Wonder Woman in a back-up story, which would continue in "Sensation Comics" #1, which featured Wonder Woman's first cover appearance. Gardner Fox, Everett E. Hibbard and William Moulton Marston (Wonder Woman co-creator) stories. Everett E. Hibbard cover and art w/additional art by Sheldon Moldoff and Harry G. Peter (Wonder Woman co-creator). Staples have been removed, and cover and pages are loose as such. Issue remains a very nice example for display, w/bright colors and stunning visual appeal that far exceeds the grade. Off-white to white pages. Great cover featuring the Justice Society of America peering into crystal ball at new member Dr. Mid-Nite (w/Hooty, his owl sidekick) and Starman. Easily one of the most important Golden Age comic books, featuring the first appearance of one of DC's most popular characters.
