Item Description
2-1/8" w/Bastian Bros. back paper and "Rochester 19" union bug in field at 6 o'clock. This border design was used during the 1900 campaign and was revived for this prohibitively rare 1924 Davis button. This particular button was found in upstate New York along w/Al Smith gubernatorial material.  That combined w/the manufacturer and the presence of coattail material featuring Davis and Smith makes us feel it's likely this was produced for a New York campaign event. Faint surface wear in reflected light. Choice NM displaying Mint. It would be difficult to improve upon the condition of this specimen. One of the rarest Davis buttons and given its size and abundance of color a true stand out among the notoriously drab 1924 campaign artifacts.
