Item Description
27x41" one-sheet poster for the original release of the 1934 12 chapter movie serial based on the "Chandu The Magician" radio series. Produced by Sol Lesser and directed by Ray Taylor, the serial starred Béla Lugosi as Frank Chandler (aka Chandu the Magician). Poster features wonderful large caricature image of turban-clad Lugosi leering down at trio at lower right. Poster was originally folded as issued and has been linen-mounted w/touch-ups/restoration along margins and at corners, including repairs to pin holes. Minimal restoration along fold lines, including barely visible repair to 3" long V-shaped tear at end of "Return" in title. Large distributor stamp on "Chandu" name in title. Fine overall, but main image would display Exc. if matted and framed.
