Item Description

14.25x22.5" thin cardboard poster for concert that took place March 5, 1958 at the Phoenix Union High School Auditorium in Phoenix, AZ. Poster features classic full body photo of Jerry Lee Lewis standing and playing the piano w/"Great Balls Of Fire" song title below. This concert took place during the peak of Lewis's popularity, just two months before controversy arose surrounding his marriage to his considerably younger cousin. Concert also featured "The Biggest Record Stars Of '58," including - Roy Hamilton, The Diamonds, Jimmy Madden, Bobby Helms, Bill Justis & His Band, The Four Preps and The Silhouettes. Poster was printed by Majestic Poster Press. Top margin has tape staining at top center and at corners. Top margin also has some scattered impression marks. Bottom margin has tape staining at lower right corner w/.5" spot of surface paper lift at lower left corner. Left center margin also has strip of tape staining. Fine overall, but could be framed for a nice display. Rare and the only known example of this poster.
