Item Description
12.25x20.25x1.75" deep painted (red) metal case contains A.C. Gilbert Co. 1933 set. Lid has metal fasteners and features photo illustrated label that lists features, including "It Is Great Fun Illuminating And Electrifying Your Erector Set, Building Electric Buzzers, Telegraph Sets, Electro Magnetic Hammer, Spirit Whispering Box, Etc." and "Learn How A Telephone Receiver Is Made, What The Earth Has To Say, How To Magnify The Tick Of A Watch, And Many Other Electrical Stunts." Case has some scattered wear in the form of paint nicks/scratches and has some small areas of bare metal showing. Right edge of lid has small indent. Fine overall. Lid label has moderate aging and some scuff/staining. VG/Fine. Set appears complete w/various hardware and electrical components, including cork-stoppered glass vial containing small amount of mercury. Underside of lid has complete Gilbert decal and series of metal clips holding "Erector Electrical Set" and "Gilbert - Fun With Your Motor" manuals as well as small envelopes containing material for experiments. Some of these clips have some oxidation. Items attached to lid (particularly envelopes) show varying degrees of aging and are VG-Fine overall.
