Item Description
13.5x14" 100% wool sample panel w/stitched border trim and matching black back. Sample panel features full body image of Superman in flight above his name and has sewn tag at lower left w/additional "Superman" name and image along w/Irvin Foster company name and NCP copyright. 1940s. This company made at least two different style Superman sweaters in a variety of colors, all of which are rare. The sweaters also featured two different Superman tags and images on these vary slightly. Panel has a few tiny snags but is o/w Exc. Would make for a wonderful display if framed. Rare and first we've seen. We have only sold two examples of the sweaters in our 49 years, each selling for between $2,000 and $4,000. Franco Toscanini Collection.
