Item Description
Brass frame with accents on the front edges measures 15/16"x1-1/8" complete with original pin on the reverse. The glass covering has only the slightest bit of wear which is barely visible without magnification. This is limited to a pair of pinpoint flakes off the bottom edge and a 3/16" hairline sliver off the upper right extreme edge of the glass so thin that it is barely seen without magnification. Beneath the glass is a rectangle of ivory which has been beautifully hand painted. The slogan is along the bottom edge. On the cabin the American flag flies from a tall pole on the right while smoke rises from the chimney on the left. Unlike most depictions of the cabin, this example has the barrel of hard cider at the left of the cabin rather than the right. The scene is additionally accented by a tree with green foliage, brown tones in the foreground representing earth and with a white sky accented by a line of light blue. There is a small area of brown tone where the flag pole joins the roof. Wonderful detail and color. Overall in VF condition and by its nature unique. One of the very few hand-painted scenes to include text.
