Item Description
8x10x1.5" deep box originally contained 100 1¢ wax packs. Issued in 1940 and © The Lone Ranger Inc. ACC# R83-1. Top of the lift off lid features the same art that appears on the wrapper and includes Lone Ranger portrait. Repeated design/text appears on all four sides of not only the lid but the box bottom as well. The first use of Lone Ranger on a Gum Inc. product was in 1938 for bubble gum only (along w/premium pictures, see item #2499). Then two years later they issued this card series. Box has all over moderate wear, aging and dust soiling. Lid and bottom have trace of moisture staining at right but this mostly blends and is really only visible on the inside surfaces. Lid has a .5" puncture at top above words "It Is" and a .5" spot of missing surface paper from "1¢" price at lower right. Corners remain tight and color is strong. Still VG. A true non-sports card rarity, the only example we know of. A must have for both the serious gum card and Lone Ranger collector. The New England Non-Sports Card Collection.
