Item Description
Lot of four items related to the April 10, 1962 opening of Dodger Stadium which was used by both the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Los Angeles Angels (1962-1965). 29.5" long felt pennant has been professionally double-matted and framed under Plexiglas; frame measures 21.25x39.5". Pennant reads "Guest - Grand Opening - Dodger Stadium - Home Of The Dodgers And Angels - April 9, 1962." This was for a special preview the day before the official opening. Exc. 3-3/8" dia. celluloid pinback button issued for opening day by "The Stadium Club" w/text noting "Dodgers - Reds" match-up. Moderate aging w/series of .25" scratches at 10 o'clock. VG. 2.25x4" ticket stub for opening day game features image of stadium and is Exc. 16.5x22.5" calendar features model image of stadium (as it was still under construction) and imprint for Los Angeles-based Asbury Contractors, Inc. Calendar features complete calendar pad w/months starting April 1962 and coinciding w/baseball season/schedule for both Dodgers and Angels w/printed schedule under calendar pad. Original metal strips at top/bottom. Calendar has been rolled. Moderate handling wear w/creases and margin tears as well as scattered staining to calendar pages. VG.
