Item Description
29.25x39.75" day-glo poster on heavy stock promoting "The Endless Summer," the classic 1967 Bruce Brown surfing sports documentary that was filmed in Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Tahiti, Hawaii and California that highlighted the adventures of two young American surfers - Robert August and Mike Hynson. When this movie was released to theaters in 1967 and became a major hit, "Personality Posters" released this day-glo commercial poster of just the classic John Van Hamersveld art, and it was an extremely popular poster in surf shops, but also in all sorts of other stores like head shops, etc. The vast majority of these were pinned to bedroom and dorm room walls, and as such very few survive. Poster has been rolled and shows moderate scattered handling wear, w/handling creases being more noticeable in black areas, as crease break color on body of surfer and title at bottom. Pin holes at top corner w/aged tape strips on reverse at corners. Fine overall. Very rare and desirable poster.
