Item Description
22x28-3/8" thin cardboard poster for April 28, 1966 concert that took place at the Winchester Roller Rink in Winchester, VA. Concert featured British Invasion band The Animals w/Sam the Sham as the opening act. This is a first printing by Globe Poster of Baltimore, MD and contains an error as printed, switching the photos of the two opening acts, Sam the Sham and "Winchester's Own" Brutus and The Roamin's. The second printing corrected this and added an additional song title ("It's My Life") for The Animals. This printing notes The Animals as "From England And Ed Sullivan's TV Show! England's No. 1 Authentic Rhythm & Blues Group" and goes on to list the following songs - "House Of The Rising Sun, Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood, We Gotta Get Outta This Place" and "Inside Looking Out." Poster has some lt. margin aging and handling wear, w/moderate creasing at lower left but displays VF overall. We offered another example of this rare poster in our July 2015 auction, which sold for $3,100.
