Item Description
"Tiny Tim" was a Sunday strip created by Stanley Link that ran from July 23, 1933 to March 2, 1958. It followed the adventures of Tim Grunt and his sister Dotty, both only 2" tall at the start of the strip. However, they grew 6" during the first three months. After that, they were taken in by a farm couple. Eventually, a gypsy grew them to slightly less than normal size, and Dotty disappeared. Later, the gypsy gave Tim an amulet that allowed him to return to being 2" tall, then grow back to normal size. Offered here is the pen and ink original art for three Sunday pages on approx. 13.75x20" thin artboards. Art for Aug. 18, 1940 Sunday features Hollywood premiere w/character impersonating celebrity and signing girl's autograph book. Art for July 13, 1941 Sunday features Tiny Tim and his friend Tommy working on model airplane. It gets late and Tommy goes to bed, Tim shrinking down to almost complete plane by dawn, much to Tommy's amazement. Great images of Tiny Tim working w/over-sized equipment. Art for Aug. 17, 1941 Sunday features the Greedys arguing over how to spend prize money Tommy won w/his model airplane. Tim shrinks down and steals the money after they go to bed and he and Tommy make their escape. Each has been signed at top by Link and each has The Chicago Tribune Copyright strip paste-over in last panel. Scattered margin aging w/pinhole at upper left of last artboard, o/w art remains clean and Exc. See following items #1600-1601.
