Original 27x41" one-sheet poster for the 1938 15-Chapter Universal serial starring Buster Crabbe as Flash Gordon, Jean Rogers as Dale Arden and Charles Middleton as Emperor Ming. Poster has had top, left/right margins trimmed to 26x40", but this does not affect text or image in any way and bottom margin is untrimmed. Based on the "Flash Gordon" comic strip, it is the second of three Flash Gordon serials made between 1936 and 1940. This is for Chapter 10, "Incense Of Forgetfulness" and features wonderful design (each chapter of this serial had a poster featuring different art), w/large image of Flash Gordon (photo of Crabbe's face) and smaller Dale Arden image (w/photo of Rogers' face) and great rocketship image at upper right. Folded as issued, poster has some scattered wear to fold lines. Top and upper right margins have two small slivers off edges and poster has even lt. aging but if framed, would still display nicely. Fine. All posters from this serial are rare and this is the first we've offered in our 48 years.
