Item Description
Set of four large and impressive 44x80" heavy vinyl banners used at McDonald's restaurants in conjunction w/the 1992 release of Tim Burton's "Batman Returns." Banners feature images of Michael Keaton as Batman, Michelle Pfeiffer as Catwoman and Danny DeVito as The Penguin. Last banner features Gotham City skyline w/"Welcome To Gotham City" text and has image of batsignal set against a snowy night sky. Each banner also has the film's batsymbol logo. One of only 250 sets made, only select McDonald's even ordered this promotional set given its high cost. Backs have "N. Henry & Sons Inc. Chicago, IL." maker's name. Each banner has wooden boards at top and bottom. Scattered lt. wear, w/some tiny holes along top and bottom margins as made. VF/Exc. overall. A parental backlash arose shortly after the film's release, criticizing the film for violence and sexual references that were deemed unsuitable for children. McDonald's subsequently shut down their Happy Meal tie-in for the film. Scarce set.
