Collection Detail

Retired Pennsylvania State Representative Fred Noye started collecting political memorabilia in 1957 when his mother returned from the Eisenhower/Nixon inauguration with political souvenirs. In 1960, Noye was the campaign chairman for Vice President Richard Nixon’s campaign in his high school class mock election. This led to Noye’s interest in Richard Nixon.

In 1972, Noye ran for the state legislature which produced the infamous Nixon/Noye button for his campaign. Over the years, Noye accumulated one of the largest Nixon collections in the country, including every aspect: buttons, jewelry, 3D items, fabrics and ephemera.

As a state legislator, Noye also built one of the larger Pennsylvania collections, including items for governor, US senate, congress, Pennsylvania state-wide offices, and Pennsylvania related presidential items. He just donated thousands of pieces of Pennsylvania legislative campaign items to the Pennsylvania House of Representative’s archives and to local historical societies.

He and his wife Debby, who has tolerated his collecting obsession for 43 years, live in Elliottsburg, PA.
