6 3/4x13" diecut stiff paper figural Santa in red, white, and green. Depicts him wearing a "Sears" belt buckle with diecut eyes and mouth and attached cardboard panel on reverse. This has a tab and when pulled down, it appears as if Santa is winking with words "A Merry Christmas" visible inside of his mouth. Reverse is red and white with small illustrations of 28 different children from other countries, all w/ "Merry Christmas greeting in their native tongue. Designed with pair of fold lines on lower third so that Santa could be used as a ventriloquist toy and also has a diecut hole at top for hanging display as well. c 1948. Both sides are lightly browned, front has a few barely noticeable moisture spots at one arm, a few crease lines at top of hat and on boots. Fine.
