42mm (1-5/8") in white metal. The original 1852 issue was holed on a thin flan whereas this high quality re-strike made just a few years later is unholed and of double thickness, a full .25". Front has portrait and name while reverse has group of flags surrounding block of text listing his Mexican War victories with surrounding text "A Gallant & Skillful Hero/The Peoples Choice." Couple of very trivial small marks but overall with proof-like uncirculated luster. A beautiful example.
