This large 14x30.25" version was issued only to retailers and is much rarer than the small size calendar which retailers issued to their customers (see item #1954 for comparison). Both calendars have same design w/calendar pages featuring superb color art done by the Disney Studios (see item #1954 for list of images). Issued in 1942 by John Morrell & Co. Each calendar page includes Morrell meat product advertisements. Back of the last page has photos of their packing plant. Mailing tube has 4x6" glossy paper label featuring Mickey Mouse and Pluto plus "Happy New Year Everybody" text. Label and tube have scattered trace of wear but label remains complete and still retains a glossy appearance. Tube is Fine. Top page has some faint scattered age spots and margin wear. Scattered margin wear to all sheets, second sheet having .5" tear at right margin. All art remains bright and clean. Overall Fine. Comes w/14x25.5" insert sheet that has bw images of various Disney characters at top, Walt Disney portrait at middle and advertisement for Morrell's Liver Loaf at bottom. As w/calendar, this sheet is rolled and has obvious wear w/small tears/creases at margins and 5.75" tear at top center repaired w/archival tape. .25x5" piece missing at lower left. VG. This promo sheet is rare and the first example we've seen in our 46 years. Rare complete set.
