Item Description
From same set as #1063. Bottom margin text reads "Detroit 1910 Willetts P." Sharp image. Robert Edgar Willet played with the Detroit Tigers of the AL (1906-1913) and the St. Louis Terriers of the Federal League (1914-1915). His best season was 1909 when he had a record of 21–10, ranking third in the AL in wins and fifth in winning percentage. In two games of the 1909 World Series against the Pittsburgh Pirates, Willett pitched 7 and 2/3 innings, allowing no runs and three hits. Designated by SGC as being from the "Richard Merkin Collection" and comes with Hake's COA.
