Item Description
Art is for Silly Symphony cartoon released February 24, 1939 directed by Dick Rickard. 9.5x12" sheet of animation paper has second sheet measuring 5x8.5" glued in center as done by artist. Wonderful image done in lead and colored pencil has wolf dressed as mermaid on moss-covered rock in water looking at mostly submerged Fiddler and Fifer pigs. Art is signed “Horvath” in lead pencil at lower right. Margins of image area have gray show through to .5" depth from glue on reverse. Art is Exc. A superior example of Horvath’s work which is seldom found signed.
