Attributed to Ub Iwerks. 9.5x12" animation sheet has 3x4.75" tall lead pencil image area w/figure of Mickey shown waist up w/arms fully extended and open smile holding mallets in air from scene six minutes into the cartoon where he used these mallets to play bull's teeth. Lower right corner has sequence number "132." Sheet has lt. margin aging. Upper left corner tip missing tiny piece, image area is clean and Exc. Nice image from sequence. Released on Nov. 18, 1928, Steamboat Willie was the third of Mickey's cartoons to be produced, but was the first to be distributed and the first to be shown more than once in a theater. It is historically recognized as the first cartoon to feature a full soundtrack. A clean and tight historical drawing. Our last Steamboat Willie w/similar pose sold for $1500.
