c. late 1920’s-early 1930s. All are 8x10” glossy or matte finish news service photos. Many show cartoonist at drawing board. All have authentic and bold ink signature by the artist. All but one have added inscription in another hand to F.J. Nicht who was head of King Features Syndicate Sales Dept. at the time and would go on to become VP. Includes: Felix the Cat’s Pat Sullivan drawing Sunday page w/ small panel of Felix and Kitty, DeBeck sketching Barney Google and Spark Plug, Cliff Sterrett w/ Polly and her Pals panel, G. McManus working on Sunday page w/small Jiggs and Maggie panel, Carl Anderson w/ small original art of Henry, Jimmy Murphy working on Toots and Casper daily along w/small panel, A. Carter working on Just Kids daily w/small panel, Lym Young working on Tim Tyler’s Luck strip. Photos in this lot that were not used in card set are: cartoonist/illustrator John Held Jr., Gene Carr drawing daily strip, Russ Westover drawing Tillie the Toiler daily. Photos have lt. handling creases and bit of aging. Fine/VF. Comes w/ complete sealed NM 18 postcard set published by Kitchen Sink in 1995. An instant one of a kind collection w/ some of the nicest signed cartoonists photos we’ve ever seen. Comes with Hake’s COA.
