c.1940. 16.25x22.25x3.25” deep box w/fort walls design around sides has lid text “ Complete With Anti-Tank Gun, Exploding Tanks, Soldiers” w/graphics of artillery men firing at tank. Box has lt. oxidation. Tight and Fine. Die-cut insert holds: three paper on thick cardboard “Exploding” tanks on hinged painted tin bases w/point score numbers on fronts which break in two when hit, tin litho 105M gun w/crank that fires wooden shells, 12 tin litho soldiers w/individual names and point scores on bases. Soldiers include: two Tank Commanders, Radio Operator, Infantrymen, Machine Gunners, Motorcycle Messenger, etc. “Ammunition” box is here, but has no shells. Cello window torn. VG. One tank base has some oxidation, target areas are a bit worn. Two soldiers have lt. oxidation. VG. Rest are Fine. Insert has lt. creasing and bit of edge wear. Good. Gun has lt. wear. Fine. Elaborate set w/wonderfully detailed design.
