Item Description
15/16” with hole on brass rim as made. Each rim names the candidate with date of 1860 below. The front of this piece matches DeWitt/Sullivan 1860-90 with a very close up image of Lincoln. However the reverse of this piece matches 1860-100 and has only two, rather than three, leaf clusters. In addition the circle around the ferrotype is pearled. Condition is Exc. The rim has NM luster. The Lincoln ferro is just a trifle on the darker side but almost no wear at all on the emulsion with the exception of the slightest bit of surface wear visible only in reflected light or microscopically. The Hamlin side is equally as nice with just a pair of pin point marks showing in reflected light. One is a dot on his cheek and the other on the far right background. For practical purposes both are invisible unless viewed microscopically. A beautiful NM example.
