Item Description
Lot of three hardcovers published by Fantagraphics Books. Each measures about 8.5x11.25". Titles include - "The Complete Crumb Comics" Vol. 1 and Volumes 1 and 2 of "R. Crumb Sketchbook" that contains sketches by Crumb from "1964 To Mid '65" and "Mid 1965 To Early '66." Crumb was a founder of the underground comix movement and is regarded as its most prominent figure. As an artist, illustrator, and musician recognized for his distinctive style, Crumb is one of the most celebrated of comic book artists despite his entire career taking place outside the mainstream comic book publishing industry. "The Complete Crumb Comics" Vol. 1 is a first edition and was published in Oct., 1987. Signed in black ink on front endpaper w/stamped edition number 218 below. "R. Crumb Sketchbook" Vol. 1 is a first edition and was published in June, 1992. Illustrated bookplate on inside from cover has been hand-numbered 220 of 400 signed copies and has been signed in black ink. "R. Crumb Sketchbook" Vol. 2 is a first edition and was published in Dec., 1992. Illustrated bookplate on inside from cover has been hand-numbered 152 of 400 signed copies and has been signed in black ink. All copies are NM.
