Auction #205 - Part I Item numbers 1 through 1426 in auction 205. |
These are 11x16.5" usually with 20 pages. This is the entire 1939 year except for Dec. 18 issue. Group does include one earlier issue Vol.1 #18 from July 13, 1936 with headline "G.O.P. Concedes N. Dak. To Lemke." This issue has tanned with two small tears on first page area. The primary group includes two copies of 10/30, two for 11/13 (one with 1" edge tear) and two for 11/27. Copies have browning but not at all brittle. The only two in the primary run with more than minor age are 1/9 with 5" cover tear and 4/10 with 6" back cover tear. Filled with photos and articles about all the personalities and issues of this intense period leading to FDR's third term and war in Europe. The slant is decidedly right wing and fascinating throughout. (H - $200 to $400)
