Auction #196 - Part II
Item numbers 976 though 2670 in auction 196.
Size 9.5, each sneaker is 12" long. A number of different varieties/variations were produced and these are pictured in the 1934 Mickey Mouse merchandise catalogue (this page is shown in our photo for reference only, the catalogue is being offered in this auction as item #1749). Sneakers have canvas bodies with rubber soles that have hardened with age. Front of each has raised "Mickey Mouse" name. Outer surface of each shoe at ankle has silk-screened image of Mickey while inside surface at this area has rubber "seal" reading "Mickey Mouse Skoots" with image of him. Both of these seals have also hardened and have some hairlines/wear but remain largely complete and intact. Same can be said for the rubber soles which have some hairlines and aging, few small flakes of material missing but nothing serious that affects their display. Canvas bodies show typical aging. Fine. Rare, only the second pair of "Skoots" we've offered in our 41 years and the first of this style. (J - $700 to $1000)
