36.75x60" sign on .25" thick cardboard. c. late 1940s - early 1950s. Sign features burlesque performer "Tee Tee Red" posing in scant costume consisting of fingerless gloves, panties and pasties. A lace bra has been painted over in the appropriate areas and a larger lace detail area has been added over panties. Red's belly button has had a star painted over it. Large yellow circle at bottom right-hand corner reads "Red Hot And Rising." Noticeable wear at edges/corners with holes from posting and some corners rounded off. Overall VG but still impressive display piece. Obtained through the Roxy Theater, Cleveland, OH, a nationally-known burlesque house that operated from 1933-1977 in some form of adult entertainment or another. Scarce.
