Item Description
6.5x9.5" mailer with "Magazine Enterprises" mailing label and 1953 postmark. As mailer was postally issued, there is some wear to edges. VF+. Contains 17.5x33.5" triangular scarf with "The Ghost Rider" name and mask silk-screened images. This is not the current Ghost Rider comic book character, but the earlier western-themed character from the late 1940s that appeared in horror-themed western stories. Character was acquired from Magazine Enterprises by Marvel Comics who continues to use the character under the name The Phantom Rider. Mask was obtained for $1.00 plus mail coupon. We are including a replica of the ad showing nice Ghost Rider image and image of boy trying on mask. "A Scarf...With The Name Of THE GHOST RIDER Bannered On It...And A SPOOKY White Mask That Becomes A GHOST RIDER SKULL When The Mask Is Tied On...!" 11x8.5" area of mask has glow-in-the-dark feature which still glows brightly. Mask remains folded as issued with a very few scattered pinpoint age spots. N. Mint. One of the rarest and most impressive premiums we've ever seen or offered. We know of only two and this is superior in condition - the other has had it's eye holes cut out and does not have the original mailing envelope.
