3.5x4x1.75" tall wood base has metal plaque w/"Presented To Mr. Jackie Robinson By The South Jersey Division Shareholders - Chock Full O' Nuts - Cherry Hill Inn - March 19, 1960" text. 10" tall polished white metal (w/bronze finish) full figure of Native American wearing war bonnet w/arms crossed stands atop base w/raised "Popai Oma - Outstanding Merchandising Achievement" text just below his feet. Exc. Robinson retired from baseball in Dec. 1956 and went to work for "Chock Full O' Nuts," a lunch counter chain and coffee company, as the Vice President and Director of Personnel. He stayed w/the company until Feb. 1964. Popai refers to an International Trade Association for retail marketing which was founded in 1936 and awards gold, silver and bronze honors. A superb display piece and great personal artifact for one of baseball's most exceptional players.
