Item Description
Between 4.75x4.75" and 5x7" original glossies w/”Spooner & Wells, Inc. Photographers” ink stamp on back w/NYC address, team name & year, and players name in pencil on many. Most show players in uniform during practice, warm-ups, or actual in-game situations while others shows various baseball related situations such as spectators, views from the bleachers, and group and individual portrait shots. The "Superbas" were formed through the merging of the old Brooklyn Bridegrooms AA team with the soon to be defunct Baltimore Orioles team in 1899. Due to the Baltimore team having several soon-to-be HOF'ers, the team was instantly credible and enjoyed immediate success, winning back to back pennants. This success ultimately followed the team in later years after becoming the Dodgers. Lt. handling creases here and there, lt. age curling, a few margins are trimmed a bit. Overall Fine/VF. An impressive instant collection from a very historically important ball club.
