Large and impressive 28.5x30.75x11" deep illustrated rwb cardboard box w/full color label (w/art by William George) contains complete and unused parts for "The Biggest Masters Of The Universe Set Ever!" Mattel, ©1986. This playset was the largest playset to be produced for the "Masters Of The Universe" toyline. Playset has three levels featuring three themed towers w/vehicles that run around the entire playset on a monorail system. The "Central Tower" is the largest/primary tower and comes in two pieces, w/"Central Tower Base" foundation. The key feature of the "Central Tower" is the two-piece Guard Lion. Additionally, there are two arms that fit into the "Central Tower." Two Gargoyles guard the entrance steps to the playset leading up to the Guard Lion. The "Central Tower" has three levels in addition to the ground floor level. Each level is reached by way of an elevator which runs up and down "Grayskull Tower." The playset comes w/two secondary towers to the right and left of the Central Tower. The "Grayskull Tower" is a representation of Castle Grayskull (see item #2208) and connects to the "Central Tower Base" and reaches into the air at approximately half the height of the Central Tower. At its base, there is a Prison for Evil Warriors, Snake Men or Evil Horde characters w/a prison gate. The "Viper Tower" is a representation of Snake Mountain (see item #2209) and features central Viper feature. As an added bonus, this expansive playset was designed to be interconnected w/both the Castle Grayskull and Snake Mountain playsets. The monorail system comes w/three different battery-operated vehicles - the Battle Tram, Sky Cage and the Jet Pack Fighter. The playset also came w/a multitude of accessories/weapons including a weapons rack, ladder, grappling hooks, laser guns and ramps that could be used to connect the towers to Castle Grayskull and Snake Mountain. Set remains factory-sealed w/original tape, which has aged and shows wear. Box shows moderate scattered wear w/one corner slightly dented in, corner tip wear and aging to white portions of box. Front panel has 1" and 1.25" T-shaped surface paper tear/indent by Guard Lion's face, but does not puncture through. Back panel has 1x2.5" V-shaped surface paper tear/indent, but does not puncture through. Box is Fine overall. Contents remains complete, unused and Mint as packaged. Because it is so difficult and expensive for collectors to complete, "Eternia" is often referred to as "The Holy Grail" of "Masters Of The Universe" collecting. Upon its release in 1986, "Eternia" was released at an extremely high price for a toy at the time. This led to few playsets being sold. In addition, there are numerous accessories and other easily-lost parts that makes a complete version like the example being offered here very hard to put together or find. Very rare as factory-sealed.
