Item Description
1.25" with product title above and slogan below "You're Telling Me!" For color and design this has long been our favorite early 1930s Mickey button although this example does have some small condition issues. Reverse has union bug back stamp while curl reads "The Leo Hart Co., Rochester, N.Y." The button has been slightly bent with a very small dent on the reverse collet which displays as just a little bit less than a perfect circle. The front of the piece is still totally circular in shape but with a little surface damage. There is a 1/16" near pinpoint dot of celluloid off the very bottom edge, a shallow edge dent above the word "Soap" and a 1/8" hairline craze mark just above Mickey's outstretched hand. In reflected light there is other additional but tiny wear and not much worse than typically found on any button of this age. Coloration remains strong as issued and with Exc. gloss. In our opinion, the ultimate 1930s Mickey Mouse ad button. Over five decades we have come across only three examples with an undamaged example from the Hake Collection realizing close to $12,000.00 back in Auction #179. That is close to if not a record for a single non-political button. While this example has damage it still displays beautifully. Maurice Sendak Collection. Comes with Hake's COA.
