Item Description
Pair of 14x21-3/8" cover proofs w/superb full color Jim Steranko artwork of a multitude of super-heroes. Characters shown include an amazing array of Golden Age and Silver Age comic book heroes including Superman, Batman, Captain America, Captain Marvel, The Shadow, Captain Marvel, The Human Torch and many more. Volume 1 cover proof is on glossy paper and has been signed at right center (above Spider-Man image) in black felt tip pen by Steranko in the 1970s. Exc. Volume 2 is on thicker matte stock (unlike the thin glossy stock used on the actual publication). "Supergraphics" stamp on back w/aged tape at margins. Slight fade w/1.5" slice at top left margin. Displays Fine. Proofs feature different art as they were used for the covers to Steranko's 1970 and 1972 comic book history books published by Steranko's company Supergraphics. See following item #1759. Great pair for framing.
