15.5x36" linen-wrapped board has attached 13x33.5" die-cut cardboard sign featuring Superman flying w/box of Kellogg's Corn Flakes (as seen in salesman's photo #2571) in his hands. ©1956 NCP, Inc. and part of store display. Image of Superman was originally double-sided but designed so that the halves could be separated, as has been done here. This was then mounted to a matching die-cut piece of cardboard to reinforce which was then mounted to linen-wrapped cardboard sheet. Superman image has notable restoration including being repainted from knees down, paint touch-ups to surface paper lifts on legs, cape and arms. Moderate wear/aging to Corn Flakes box image w/surface paper rippling. Superman's face has 1" V-shaped tear w/color touch-up. VG overall, but still a rare and desirable display piece.
